Location and surroundings
Baobab Tented Camp is located in a private conservation area in the south-western Tarangire ecosystem. As the name suggests, striking baobab trees stand around the camp, along with unobstructed views of the open savannah. The area is remote and considerably quieter than the national park itself, which makes it well suited to wildlife viewing. There are no fences: elephants and antelopes sometimes pass directly through the camp. You can reach Tarangire National Park in a short drive; from the Kuro Airstrip the journey takes around 40 minutes on a game drive.
The camp belongs to the Tarangire region. If you are looking for further accommodation in the surrounding area, you can find it on the Tarangire lodges page.
Rooms and facilities
You spend the night in one of ten permanent safari tents: seven Regular Tents, two Triple Tents and one Family Tent. Each tent has its own bathroom with shower, comfortable beds and a small private veranda. The furnishings are simple and kept in classic safari style. The open restaurant area and lounge overlook the bush; the full-board meals are served here. In the evening, guests gather at the fire pit. Power comes from the camp’s solar system.
