Location and surroundings
From December to March, Olakira Camp Asilia Africa stands in the Ndutu region, at the transition between the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and the southern Serengeti. The area is known for its high concentrations of wildlife during the calving season: wide savannahs, acacias and open plains define the landscape, and game drives begin directly at the camp. It is a 20-minute drive from the Ndutu Airstrip to the camp. For the rest of the year, the mobile camp moves on to the north of the Serengeti; there you can reach it from the Kogatende Airstrip in a 45-minute drive.
If you are looking for further accommodation in this region, you will find it on the overview page Lodges Ndutu.
Rooms and facilities
The tents are generously sized and equipped with comfortable beds, a private bathroom and a living area. Each tent can be partially opened for stargazing. In the Ndutu region there are 9 tents, including 1 family tent; in the north of the Serengeti there are 10 tents with 2 family units. At the centre of the camp are the dining tent and the lounge. Meals are served here on a full-board basis.
