Organizations

Nkoaranga Orphanage

Founded in August 1997 with the support of the German organization Mama Ursula, the Nkoaranga Orphanage provides a safe and loving home to an average of 30 children aged zero to three years.

Under the leadership of Mama Andrew and 12 caring “Mamas,” the orphanage ensures that the children are adopted before their fourth birthday, allowing them to grow up in a family environment. The funding for the orphanage comes partially from donations, and each year, international volunteers support the children on-site.

WildlifeNOW - The Mkomazi Project

The Mkomazi National Park in Tanzania, spanning 3,270 square kilometers, was revived in 1989 by Tony Fitzjohn and his team. Through intensive conservation efforts, such as clearing roads, building water sources, and recruiting rangers, the area was saved from poaching and destruction. In 2008, Mkomazi was granted National Park status to ensure the long-term protection of this unique ecosystem. A notable highlight of the project was the establishment of a rhino sanctuary to reintroduce the endangered black rhino population. This sanctuary, along with a breeding program for African wild dogs, played a crucial role in restoring biodiversity within the park.
