Travel planning & preparation
The entry requirements vary depending on the nationality of the traveler.
A passport that is valid for at least 6 months beyond the planned departure date is generally required to enter Tanzania. A visa is also required, which must be applied for in advance as an e-visa.
The tourist visa for Tanzania is valid for 90 days from the date of issue. The processing time for e-visas is usually 2-3 weeks.
The best way to submit your application is via the official website: https://visa.immigration.go.tz/
The visa is not sufficient for a trip to Zanzibar. Separate travel insurance is required for this.
From October 1, 2024, it will be mandatory for all visitors to Zanzibar – with the exception of residents – to take out inbound travel insurance before their arrival. This insurance is a prerequisite for visiting the island. The cost of the insurance is USD 44 per person and it is valid for 92 days. The insurance can only be taken out via the official website of the Zanzibar government at: https://visitzanzibar.go.tz/
Recommended vaccinations for Tanzania are hepatitis A and B, typhoid, yellow fever and malaria prophylaxis.
Travel insurance offers comprehensive protection during your safari so that you can enjoy the adventures of your dream trip without worrying. It covers medical emergencies, including treatment costs and repatriation, as well as the loss of luggage and personal belongings. So you can enjoy the impressive wildlife and breathtaking landscapes of Africa without any worries. We can recommend “Chapka Travel Insurance” for this.
